I always called Quintina my baby sister because I was 8years older than her. She escaped the rigid discipline which my elder brother and I received from our parent. Being the fifth child in the family, our parent where more relaxed when she was born. She was loved by everyone in the family. She was a very good student at the Freetown Secondary School for Girls where she made excellent grades. During my first visit to her in Ibadan, I was very much impressed at the positive way she related with her in-laws. She was a woman of God, who put God first in everything she does. On my birthdays, she will be the first to call me up that morning wishing me a happy birthday and after that she will spend some minutes offering prayers for me.
I will definitely miss listening her charming voice on the phone. I pray that the Good Lord will grant her internal rest.

Mummy Wale, you were such a special part of our childhood, and I will forever be grateful for the love and care you showed us when we were younger. As a nurse and aunty, you cared for us with so much kindness, warmth and love, and those memories will always remain close to my heart.
Christmas at our place was something we looked forward to every single year. You had a way of making Christmas feel so special, joyful and full of love. I can never forget the famous rice-bread, that beautiful cake you made every year, the jollof rice and all the delicious meals you lovingly prepared for us. Those meals were more than just food, yeah they were part of the beautiful memories of our childhood and the joy you brought us all.
And it wasn’t just Christmas; even Eid was always special because of you. You brought people together, and your warmth and generosity made every celebration memorable.
Looking back now, I realise how much those moments meant and how blessed we were to have you as part of our lives. Your kindness, your laughter, your care and the memories you created will stay with us forever.
Thank you, Mummy Wale, for loving and caring for us. You will never be forgotten. May God forgive your sins, grant you eternal rest and peace, and comfort everyone who loved you. ❤️🙏🏽🕊️
Rest well, Mummy Wale. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

You meet people who forget you.
You forget people YOU meet.
But sometimes you meet some people that you can’t forget and who also don’t forget you.
Those are your friends and Tina was one such friend.
Tina’s path and I crossed as far back as the early 1960s, when we both started our secondary schooling at Freetown secondary school for girls, FSSG in Freetown, Sierra Leone Since then, Tina and I developed an enduring friendship that lasted until her death.
At school, back home, Tina was very a “Wiz” in Maths and the science subjects. When myself and other classmates did not finish our homework, she would give us her exercise to copy the correct answers as she always had the correct answers. Little did we know that she was destined to make a profession in the sciences.
Today, I remember and honour the life of someone who brought so much joy and love into my life, someone who touched the hearts of many with her kindness and compassion, which will never be forgotten.
She was an embodiment of love, care, and support. She was always willing to give a helping hand as long as that would make you happy and fulfilled. She was a precious gift from God, endowed with much grace, love, and intellect, and Tina’s legacy was one of selflessness and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
It is so sad how good people don’t stay longer than we wish. but has left sweet memories we cherish till today. We are grateful for such memories. Some of these memories I find in the photos she sent me when she was celebrating different occasions like birthdays and church occasions. As we bid farewell to my bosom friend and sister, let us not lose ourselves in the sorrow of loss, but rather find comfort in the memories we shared, the laughter, the tears, the love. Let us remember her not with sadness, but with the joy she brought into our lives, the lessons she taught us, and the love she shared with us.
Tina, you were a blessing in our lives, a light that never dimmed. You were a friend who left footprints of love and kindness on our hearts. As we say goodbye, know that your spirit will continue to live on in the garden of our memories, in the bloom of every flower, in the rustle of every leaf.
Tina, you are deeply missed, but your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. May your soul continue to rest in eternal peace, and may light perpetually shine upon you as you are resting in the loving arms of your Saviour.

You meet people who forget you. You forget people YOU meet. But every now and then, you meet someone you simply cannot forget; someone who, in turn, never forgets you. Those are the people we call true friends. Tina was one of those very special friends.
Tina’s and my paths first crossed as far back as the early 1960s, when we both began our secondary education at Freetown Secondary School for Girls (FSSG) in Freetown, Sierra Leone. From those early school days, Tina and I developed an enduring friendship that remained strong and cherished throughout the years, until her passing.
Back home at school, Tina was a real “wiz” when it came to Mathematics and the sciences. Whenever I, or some of our other classmates, had not completed our homework, Tina would generously let us copy from her exercise books. She always seemed to have the correct answers! Little did we know then that this brilliant young girl was destined to build a distinguished career in the sciences.
Today, I remember and honour the life of a truly remarkable woman; someone who brought so much joy, warmth, and love into my life and touched the hearts of so many through her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Tina was an embodiment of love, care, and support. She was always willing to extend a helping hand, especially if doing so would bring happiness, comfort, or fulfilment to someone else. She was a precious gift from God, blessed with grace, love, wisdom, and intellect. Her life was a beautiful testament to selflessness, and her devotion to her family and friends was unwavering.
It is heartbreaking that sometimes the good people we love are taken from us far sooner than we would ever wish. Yet Tina left behind something that death can never take away: beautiful and precious memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. For those memories, we remain deeply grateful.
Some of my most treasured memories of Tina live on in the photographs she so lovingly sent me over the years; pictures from birthdays, church occasions, and other special moments in her life. Looking at them brings both tears and smiles, reminding me of the wonderful person she was and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
As we bid farewell to my beloved friend and sister, let us not allow the sorrow of her passing to overshadow the beauty of her life. Instead, let us find comfort in the memories we shared, the laughter, the tears, the conversations, the love, and the many moments that made our friendship so special.
Let us remember Tina not with sadness, but with gratitude and joy for having had the privilege of knowing her. Let us remember the lessons she taught us, the kindness she showed us, the lives she touched, and the love she so freely shared.
Tina, you were truly a blessing in our lives, a light that never dimmed. You were a friend who left footprints of love, kindness, and compassion upon our hearts. Though you are no longer with us, the beautiful memories you created will continue to live on.
As we say farewell thee well, know that your spirit will forever remain in the garden of our memories, in the laughter we shared, in the stories we tell, in the bloom of every flower, and in the gentle rustle of every leaf.
Tina, you are deeply missed, but your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Your friendship was a gift, your memory, a treasure, and your life a blessing.
May your beautiful and gentle soul continue to rest in eternal peace, and may perpetual light shine upon you. May you rest peacefully in the loving arms of your Saviour, until we meet again.
Rest well, my dear Tina, my friend, my sister. You will never be forgotten.
